Business as a Vocation

Business is a vocation, and a noble vocation, provided that those engaged in it see themselves challenged by a greater meaning in life; this will enable them truly to serve the common good by striving to increase the goods of this world and to make them more accessible to all.

Pope Francis, Evangelii Gaudium [n. 203]

At 4-sight we envision a future built on businesses that work for 100% of humanity. It may not happen in our lifetime, but what can we do today to make the world a better place tomorrow? The role of business, from microentrepreneurs and social enterprises to multinational corporations, to global networks, all organizations bear more fruit when service to others is the true bottom-line.  Sustainable development must be considered with a well-balanced perspective on social, economic, and environmental sustainability. Equilibrium amongst each aspect is optimal, but social sustainability, an "other-centeredness", is critical for those who see their work in business as a vocation.
